We believe that early childhood education has two goals: First, to help children function effectively within the world; Second, to help them discover the world within themselves.
To reach the first
goal, we encourage children to become confident learners and to work
cooperatively and responsibly. To reach the second goal, we encourage them
to be self-motivated, enthusiastic about their special personal interests,
and proud of their efforts, whether or not these efforts are rewarded with
immediate success. To foster these goals, we focus on the development of
skills in communication, cognition, creative expression, physical dexterity,
and social and emotional interaction.

A Child's Place has three different programs designed
to meet the needs of families in our community.
First Steps is a 12-month, full-time day care program serving children from six weeks through preschool.
Our three stimulating 10-Month Programs are designed for toddlers, threes, and fours and meet 2 or 3 days per week
in both morning and afternoon classes.
In addition, A Child's Place offers an active and exciting
Summer Program.
The goal for all our programs is to be the premier early childhood
community for creative, nurturing, and innovative learning in Westport and
the state of Connecticut.
